Campsites Wallonia

Wallonia is the French-speaking part of Belgium and borders France, Luxembourg, Germany and Dutch Limburg. This part of Belgium includes 5 provinces and you will find here the famous Ardennes. But apart from the Ardennes, Wallonia has many other beautiful areas that are more than worth a visit, such as the province of Hainaut ('Hainaut' in French).

Camping vacations in Hainaut

The province of Hainaut, the westernmost province of Wallonia, is especially known for its industrial heritage. Here, for example, you will find the unique boat elevators. a kind of lock that helps bridge the differences in height in rivers. And what about the beautiful castles that can be seen here, such as those of Chimay and Seneffe? The province has several Unesco treasures, including 3 old mines (for example, the one at Spiennes). One of the oldest cities in Belgium is Tournai, with its historic houses and cathedral (also on the Unesco list) well worth a visit. Charleroi, once an industrial city, is increasingly emerging as a hip destination, with its raw character and new beer breweries.

For cyclists, Hainaut has a cycling junction system, or you can cycle the van Gogh route past Cuesmes, where van Gogh lived and worked for a while. The kids will probably want to visit the animal and landscape garden Pairi Daiza, awarded several times as the most beautiful zoo of the Benelux!
